.COM.MX Extension Available in the Control Panel

The .COM.MX domain extension has just been made available for registration and management in the Lonex web hosting Control Panel. The .MX top-level domain is the official TLD for Mexico but, as there are no requirements for nationality or residence, .COM.MX domains can be registered by anyone, without any restrictions. Of course, there are some special features of the .MX TLD, set by its registry nicMX and here is a brief description of what one should know for successful domain registration and management:
Registration Period: Registration of .COM.MX domains is possible for a period of 2 years only.
Domain Renewal: Domain renewal can be ordered only for 1-year period. In order to have a domain name renewed, the registrant must order it before the expiration date, as once the domain name expires the registrar removes it from our account with our registrar. Expired domains can be registered again at least 16 days after their expiration date.
Pre-Configuration: The .MX registry insists on receiving the registrant's confirmation that he/she is aware of the domain renewal policy. This requirement resulted in the presence of an additional step in the domain registration process.
WHOIS Management: Once a .COM.MX domain is registered, the WHOIS information can be modified only with a trouble ticket opened from the Help Center that is available in the Control Panel. The registrant must enclose the new WHOIS information in the ticket and wait for the resolution of the nicMX registry, which must approve or reject the request.
WHOIS / ID Protection: This service in not applicable to .COM.MX domains.
Registrar Change / Transfer: Registrants are able to transfer .COM.MX domains only away to another registrar, while transfers to our registrar are not supported.
We believe that a popular domain extension like .COM.MX will meet the needs for appropriate domain names of the growing number of customers from Mexico and America, while for the needs of our German customers, we will launch the .DE TLD soon.
